New for 2019, Bauer goalie has continued on one of the most engineered and technologically advanced goalie pants in all of goaltending and released the Bauer Vapor X2.9 Intermediate Goalie Pants. The X2.9 Intermediate has specific features and revisions from the previous generation and continues to be one of the lightest on the market.
Looking at the build of the Vapor X2.9 Intermediate, a true one piece design provides all around coverage, while still providing ultimate mobility. At the waist line, a hybrid belt system with fast straps is utilized to give the goaltender a secured fit while keeping the shape of an open waist that gives room for a goaltender to tuck their chest protector and or provide added coverage. Finally, a free-flex lace up front allows the goaltender to further get a proper fit, along with placement points for suspender attachment.
On to the hips of the X2.9 Intermediate, a dynamic 2 flex hip system along with expanded stretch zones have been implemented to give the goaltender the mobility they need to pick their legs up for pushes and movements around the crease. Down at the thighs, Bauer has used a rounded thigh shape design with HD protection that will help with the mobility in the pants while naturally deflecting pucks that clip the sides away from the goaltender. On the inside of the thigh, a loop has been added for a goalie who wants to attach their knee pads to the pants.
On to the back of the X2.9, a low profile free-flex design is implemented to allow for mobility that goes along with the lightweight feel and design of the X2.9 pant. To finish off this model, the inside is completely lined with a ThermoMax liner that will keep the goaltender from heating up during usage and helps the goaltender compete for longer.
