New for 2019, Bauer goalie has continued on one of the most engineered and technologically advanced chest protectors in all of goaltending and released the Bauer Vapor 2X Pro Senior Goalie Chest & Arm Protector. The 2X Pro has specific features and revisions from the previous generation and continues to be one of the lightest on the market.

Starting off with the chest portion of the Bauer 2X Pro Senior, form fitting shoulder floaters with Aerolite technology provide superior protection with a tight profile that will help the goaltender move their head freely, along with free-flex edge technology that provides mobility throughout the unit when reaching in any direction. An arch adjustment system has been implemented to help adjust the shoulder floaters to either sit higher or lower for the goaltender’s comfort and preference. On the inside, the chest and backplate are lined with a ThermoCore liner to help keep the goaltender cool during usage.

Further on the 2X chest portion, a Curv Composite pad is placed on the sternum to help provide extra protection for the goaltender and help control rebounds by absorbing the impact of shots and allowing the goaltender to get a quick cover.

Down to the stomach, an HD foam core extension system has been added that gives added protection to the hips and lower stomach of the goaltender. This extension is made up of three separate pieces that gives the chest protector added length on the stomach and are connected by Velcro on the bottom of the stomach for easy adjustments or removal. Carried over from the 1X, the Fast Strap system is a unique connection point between the backplate and stomach. It is designed to sit on the goalie’s waist and allow for quick adjustments to provide a dialed in fit or quick removal from the body.

Moving on to the arms of the Vapor 2X, they feature a laced in design so they can be tightened or loosened up for adjustments. Curv Composite is added into the biceps and forearms to help create stability and protection that helps deflect pucks in to predictable directions. On the arm floaters, a Dynamic 3 flex construction offers mobility in the arms to allow the goaltender to bend and extend their arms freely without restriction. Finally, on the back of the wrist is an added removable pad that is laced in to provide extra protection in certain save selections or from shots that might find their way through the body. This pad is designed to fit on the back of the catching hand and has an available placement area on both arms for full right goalies.
