Thin Tapered Curv Composite and HD foam
The first thing you’ll notice when comparing this blocker to others on the market is how remarkably thin the blocker board is. Using their new thinner Curv Composite and HD foam, Bauer has shrunk how thick the blocker board is by at least half the size.
New for 2019, Bauer goalie has continued on one of the most engineered and technologically advanced blockers in all of goaltending and released the Bauer Vapor 2X Pro Senior Goalie Blocker. The 2X Pro has specific features and revisions from the previous generation and continues to be one of the lightest on the market.
Starting off with the face of the Bauer Vapor 2X Pro Senior, the graphic is made up of three main zones with one that covers the cuff area, the next travels diagonally across the face, and finally near the sidewall. There are two sets of “spears” streak across the top and bottom areas for added design along with a digitally printed dimpled texture on the top and bottom zones that provides visual design as well as added durability.
Looking at the board of the Bauer Vapor 2X Pro Senior, you will notice the brand new thin tapered design of the board with a defined top angle, lined with Curv Composite internally and C.O.R Tech ST as the skin to create better rebounds that direct easily in to corners and give the goaltender time to recover. Wrapping around to the inner sidewall, the Vapor 2X is designed with strategic cuts to create a solid blocking surface with a lightweight design.
Flipping around to the palm side of the 2X Pro blocker, a central hand position has been used to give the feeling of making saves in the middle of the backhand for precise blocking placement. The palm itself uses a similar build to a player glove palm with the new Quattro Ivory Pro Palm that creates a comfortable handle with added layers in key areas for a soft feel and a confident grip on the stick. Internally, the palm feature Thermocore liner that will help keep the goaltender’s hand cool during usage.
Finally, on the cuff of the Vapor 2X Pro Senior blocker, Aerolite has been used to create a protective cuff that allows for a wide range of motion to help goalie’s project their hand toward the shooter and create better angles for redirecting pucks in to corners.
In comparison to the Bauer Vapor 2X Senior, the Bauer Vapor 2X Pro features higher grade construction and materials along with a lower weight construction.

Palm
The palm of the blocker is very comfortable and consists of a cushioning where you would hold your stick for additional control and feel. The palm features Bauer's new Quattro Ivory Pro material which is an updated sanitized odor resistant treatment that keeps the material clean. This technology fights against bacterial and fungal growth promoting cleaner gear and keeps you palm in better condition.
Thermocore Liner
Along with the rest of the 2X Pro series, Bauer has left the 37.5 technology in the past for their Thermo Core transfer mesh that helps keep body temperature regulated preventing you from ever being to cold or overheating.
Free Flex Cuff
The free flex cuff on the blocker is specifically engineered to allow you more mobility and a better experience when handling and playing the puck.
C.O.R.Tech Skin Technology
Lastly, using the C.O.R TECH ST skin, not only has Bauer improved the durability on the skin, but they have created this skin to help rebound pop and fly off the gear. The blocker and glove both share diamond shaped ripples and a print on design which will offer custom printed on graphics sometime this spring.
