VAUGHN VE8 XP JUNIOR TRAPPER

Brand new for 2018, Vaughn Custom Sports releases the newest creation in their most accomplished Velocity family line, the Vaughn Velocity VE8 XP Junior Goalie Glove.

The VE8 XP is a complete departure from the traditional glove feel Vaughn has been known for. They have created a glove that offers a unique feel and catch angle for goalies who want the different feel, but same craftsmanship Vaughn is known for.

The basis of the XP glove is still clearly a Vaughn style build, however this glove completely stands alone. First you will notice the different graphic which is slightly different from the VE8 design. The cuff graphic still has the similar lines, but there are a few less zones. The graphic sits a top of a 1-piece cuff design which also differs from the VE8 glove. A 1-piece cuff has become preferred across most goalies, as the 1-piece cuff helps provide rigidity over the wrist to create a large blocking surface for when the goalie hits a blocker butterfly.

Next, you will notice a vastly different closure than all other gloves Vaughn has offered. While the visual presentation of the glove looks much like a V7 XR, the glove closes in a very natural 60 degree angle. This new degree angle is designed to help catch the attention of goalies who have not traditionally worn Vaughn gloves. Continuing on the visual presentation of the glove, you will notice a very clean palm section with very little stitching. The reduced amount of stitching provides fewer seams for pucks to hit and potentially sting the hand.

Moving through to the backhand of the VE8 XP Junior glove, Vaughn has opted to go with a traditionally segmented setup which gives a great fit across the knuckles while still offering plenty of protection. Additionally, the backhand is finished off which a larger finger rail to provide extra protection against any hacks or gaps in the RVH position. Internally there is a Velcro closure across the back of the fingers, another Velcro strap across the back of the knuckles and a large nylon wrist strap which feeds through a padded wrist strap. This strap pulls through the backhand and can be adjusted without removing the glove or opening up any pieces of the backhand.

New for the VE8 model, you will see a new hybrid-esque Double T which files into a Single T where it connects to the perimeter. This new design helps create visibility into the pocket, matched with a soft style catch without the extra bulk of 2 spines hindering closure.
